Lindsay Packer and James Sheehan: EARTH WHEEL

The EARTH WHEEL, in an academic sense, is a tool that describes various complimentary color relationships that mix three primaries to yield gray. In this show about color, Lindsay Packer uses light and James Sheehan uses paint to push color from the primaries to the secondaries and beyond. Packer builds color with light as it intersects and intercepts objects and spaces while Sheehan puts the optical effect into matter, using color as a physical experiment that defines spatial engagement. It’s a magical game.
